When you look below, the emerald green sea and the spectacular natural landscape pop into your eyes.
You can go by car up to the entrance to the lookout.
Inside, there are cows and horses grazing on meadows, which you can come close to.
The combination of the view from the cliffs and the meadows is as if you were in another world.
The pathways in the grass are hilly and bumpy.
It's difficult to go from the parking space to the viewing platform, which is at the top, but you can get there in around 10 minutes.

From Shichirui Port in Matsue, by Oki Kisen Line, 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Get off at Beppu Port.
From Beppu Port, by Nishino Shima Town Bus (to Uragō and Kuniga), around 30 minutes.
Get off at Kuniga Bus Stop (no low floor buses).
Further, walk along the Kuniga promenade, more than 1 hour when climbing up, and around 45 minutes when climbing down.
It's possible to use regular sightseeing buses (departing from Uragō Port or Beppu Port, arrival at Uragō Port).
When going by car from Beppu Port to the Matengai parking space, about 10 km(6.2mi).
