Townscape of Kurayoshi (Shirakabe Dozogun, Akagawara area)

Facility summary and accessibility conditions

Old row of the houses and buildings (constructed between the Edo to the Meiji period) are still retained along Tama River.
These houses use white mortar wall and black burnt cedar bark, and cover roof with red colored Sekishu tiles.
These distinctive street scenes of Kurayoshi will make you feel free from time.
On the other hand, public toilets are provided in more than 20 spots in Kurayoshi town under the slogan “Town development begins with comfortable toilets.” A lot of accessible toilets are also provided and kept in good condition, so wheelchair travelers will be able to use these toilets at ease.
